ere are some questions you should be asking before your project begins.

• How long has your proposed builder been in business?
• What are the professional qualifications and experience of the builder’s personnel?
• Is the builder a member of any Professional Industry Organizations, and for how long?
• Is the builder licensed by the Home Protection Office of B.C.?
• Does the builder offer a third party warranty, and how comprehensive is it?
• Does the builder have a service department and a process for rectifying any customer problems or complaints?
• How many custom homes has the builder completed?
• Has the builder completed any homes similar to the one you want?
• Does the builder use a standardized form of building contract and detailed specification list?

• Does the builder provide a choice of in-house design or third party arms length design?
